私は小学3年生の冬に、わが故郷「富山県」から東京に移住した。

中学校の音楽教師に「君は歌がうまいから歌手になりなさい」と言われ、音楽をやろうと決心したのもこの時代だった。

私の高校生のときは、多くの大学が学生運動で揺れたときだった。

私は高校教育のありかたに疑問を持ち、仲間と共に行動した。

学校から、「反省文を書かないと卒業させない」と言われ反省文を提出した。

私の書いた文章は先生の職員会議で読み上げられた。

実はこの時私の文章は、私が初めて書いた預言であるが、先生たちは涙をすすり上げて泣いていたそうである。

私が生まれ育った故郷は海と山に囲まれた美しいところだった。

夏は海で海水浴、冬は山でスキーをして遊んだ。

日本の家には仏間があり、玄関には神棚が備えられている。

仏間には先祖の霊、神棚には日本建国の神。

日本の素晴らしい文化は私の子供の頃に終わった。

外出するととき、家に鍵をかけなくても、泥棒は入らなかった。

昔の故郷には悪人がいなかった。

故郷の自然は人間の良心を育んだ。

庶民はカルト宗教、若者たちはマルクス・レーニン主義へと。

私は子供のとき既に今の時代の悲惨を予測していた。

When I was a kid, I had already predicted the misery of this era.

高校三年の時に私が書いた作文は教師たちを泣かせてしまった。

The composition I wrote when I was in my third year of high school made the teachers cry.

「地球の終りの日に私は一人石の上に座り、白い髭を撫でている。」
