Real story like science fiction

これは大英博物館に蔵されている釈迦の肖像画である。

This is a portrait of Buddha in the British Museum.

私はこれに関して３回指摘されたことがある。

:I have been pointed out about this three times.

一度目は新宿区歌舞伎町の新宿センター街にある店「ジャズ・てんとう虫」。

The first is "Jazz Ladybugs" in the Shinjuku Center Street in Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku.

１９８８年7月17日に初めて「コズミックサウンド」の講演をした場所である。

This is the place where I gave my first lecture on "Cosmic Sound" on July 17, 1988.

ここは金城武（かねしろ・たけし）の主演した「不夜城」という映画の舞台に設定されたところだ。

This is the setting for the movie "Huyajyou" starring Takeshi Kaneshiro.

興味のある人は馳星周の小説を読まれたし。

Those who are interested have read Syusei Hase's novel.

彼は「てんとう虫」の常連であり、当時はバンちゃんと呼ばれていた。

He was a regular of "ladybugs" and was called Ban-chan at that time.

一緒に朝まで飲んで騒いだり、温泉にも行った仲であった。

We had a drink together until morning and made a noise, and we went to a hot spring.

実は息子が産まれるまで家内は一人でこの店を切盛りしていた。

Actually, my wife was running this shop alone until my son was born.

私は近所の区役所通りの会員制ピアノクラブで毎日ピアノの弾き語りをしていた。

I used to play the piano every day at the membership piano club on Kuyakusho-dori in my neighborhood.

３０分３回ほどのステージなので、休憩時間に顔を出していた。

The stage was about 30 minutes and 3 times, so I was showing up during breaks.

家内が経営者で私は用心棒であった（笑）。

My wife was a manager and I was a bouncer (lol).

すぐ斜め向かいの店の「かくれんぼ」も、有名な映画監督の鈴木清順さんが奥さんの店の用心棒として毎日通っておられた（笑）。

Famous movie director Seijun Suzuki used to go to the store "Kakurenbo" diagonally across the street every day as a bouncer for his wife's store (lol).

ちなみに鈴木監督も「不夜城」に俳優として出演されていた。

By the way, Director Suzuki also appeared as an actor in "Kakurenbo".

ところで、この話は息子がまだ産まれる前だ。

By the way, this story is before my son was born.

演奏の合間にいつものように「てんとう虫」へ行くと、気さくなイギリス人が話しかけてきた。

As usual, when I went to "Ladybugs" between performances, a friendly Englishman spoke to me.

彼は「私はイギリスで、あなたとそっくりに描かれている絵を見たことがありますよ」。

He said, "I've seen a picture in England that looks exactly like you."

私は何のことかさっぱり分からなかった。

I had no idea what it was.

二度目は息子が生まれていて私がサラリーマンになりたての頃である。

The second time was when my son was born and I was just a salaryman.

関連会社の常務が、ある台湾で出版されている冊子を持って私のところに来た。

The managing director of an affiliated company came to me with a booklet published in Taiwan.

「この本を差し上げますので後でゆっくり見てください」。

"I'll give you this book, so please take a look at it later."

その冊子にはここで取りあげている釈迦の肖像画があった。

The booklet contained a portrait of Buddha featured here.

その人は台湾の宗教組織、天道（一貫道）の日本の幹部である。

The person is a Japanese executive of Taiwan's religious organization, Ikuan-Tao.

しばらくして私は台湾に行くことにもなるのだが。。。

After a while I will be going to Taiwan. .. ..

三度目は、自宅で歌声の会を開催していたときである。

The third time was when I was holding a singing party at home.

日本最大の某宗教団体の幹部の女性が、この肖像画が部屋の片隅に置かれているのを見つけて私にそっと耳打ちした。

A woman from an executive of one of Japan's largest religious groups softly listened to me when she found this portrait in a corner of the room.

「私はこれをイギリスの博物館へ見に行ってきたんですよ」。

"I went to see this in a museum in England."

まるでSFのような物語ではないか？！

Isn't it a story like science fiction? !!
