な、や。こ、と

Na,Ya,Ko,To

しち、はち、きゅう（く）、じゅう、

Shichi,Hachi,Kyuu（Ku),Jyuu,

古代日本では七は「な」あるいは「なな」と呼んだ。

In ancient Japan, the seven were called "na" or "nana".

子供たちは「ななつ」と言い、中国読みで「しち」とも言う。

The children say "nanatsu" and also "shichi" in Chinese reading.

七はコトタマでは「なる」と言う。

Nana says "Naru" in Kototama.

「なる」とは「成る」、「生る」、「鳴る」の意味である。

“Naru” means “consisting”, “occurs”, and “ringing”.

旧約聖書の冒頭の七日間の宇宙創成物語の七である。

It is "Seven" in the opening seven-day universe creation story of the Old Testament.

さて。八はコトタマでは「ひらく」と言う。

Now. Eight say "Hiraku" in Kototama.

「ひらく」とは「開く」の意味である。

“Hiraku” means “open”.

漢字の「八」の字の形に注目していただきたい。

Please pay attention to the shape of the "「八」eight" kanji.

「山」の形に似ていないだろうか。

Isn't it similar to the shape of a "mountain"?

「八」は美しい富士山を連想させる。

"「八」" is reminiscent of beautiful Mt. Fuji.

山開きとは重要な神祭りである。

Mountain opening is an important god festival.

また「八」とは「屋（や）」の意味でもある。

"Hachi" also means "roof.(Ya)"

特に漢字の「弥」は意味深い。

In particular, the Chinese character “弥(ya)” is very meaningful.

それは「広くゆきわたる」という意味だ。

That means "widely spread".

「八」という字の形は広がる山の裾野に似ている。

The shape of the letter "「八」8" resembles the foot of a spreading mountain.

次に「九」はコトタマでは「きわまる」と言う。

Next, "9" is said to be "kiwamaru" in Kototama.

「きわまる」とは「極まる」の意味である。

“Kiwamaru” means “ultimate”.

また古代日本の読み方の「こ」に「光」という漢字を当てはめる場合もある。

There are also cases where the Chinese character "light" is applied to the ancient Japanese reading "ko"

さて最期の「十」はコトタマでは「たり」という。

By the way, the final "ten" is called "Tari" in Kototama.

「たり」とは「足りる」という意味である。

“Tari” means “sufficient”.

「十」は「充」と読み方が同じだ。

The reading of "「十Jyuu」ten" is the same as "「充Jyuu」".

「充足」は「充ち足りる」という意味である。

"「充足」" means "sufficient".

「十」とは完成である。

"Ten" is complete.
